WELCOME to Grandma’s Touch Learning Academy – Where learning, growth, and fun come first! Grandma’s Touch Childcare believes in encouraging children to learn and thrive by creating a foundation of developmentally relevant opportunities in which all children can flourish in a healthy and caring atmosphere. We believe that each child is a unique individual and that all children can learn. Our preschool programs provide inclusive settings that recognize children’s varied abilities, interests, needs, and learning styles. We invite you to visit our school!

Our Curriculum 

Frog Street Pre-K is a comprehensive, research-based program that integrates instruction across developmental domains and early learning disciplines. Engaging and easy to use for both teachers and children!All of the curriculum and programs are aimed at one thing: igniting the minds of young children by fostering their academic, social and emotional growth through purposeful lessons and materials that intentionally produce a positive outcome. Our comprehensive, research-based programs integrate instruction across developmental domains and early learning disciplines.

With Brightwheel we are able to keep students and staff safe with contactless check-in, online payments, and digital daily sheets! We  are able to manage attendance, billing, enrollment, learning plans, and communication with parents  – all from one easy-to-use child care app.

The Star-Quality Program offers recognition to providers who exceed minimum licensing standards. Under the program, a provider can earn a rating of 1, 2, 3, or 4 stars. If a child care provider achieves 3 or 4 stars, the child care provider has achieved the highest quality standards and provides child care at the highest standard in Louisiana.

Our Classrooms

Infant & Toddler Classrooms

Baby Bees

Infants

Students in the Baby Bees class focus on gross motor skills, including rolling over, sitting up, and reaching. Fine motor skills that are developed, including grasping and holding different items. 

Bumble Bees

1 Year olds

The Bumble Bees class strengthens students’ gross motor skills, including crawling, walking, and climbing. Fine motor skills such as grasping and self-feeding with eating utensils are heavily stressed.

Pre-School Classrooms

Our preschool classrooms mark the milestone at which students at Grandma’s Touch Childcare start wearing uniforms. Our preschool students wear uniforms to help them make a mental transition from a toddler classroom to a structured preschool classroom. The uniform at Shiloh Gardens Academy consists of a solid red polo shirt and the choice of khaki, black, or gray bottoms.

Busy Bees

Pre k

Busy Bees is for 24 to 35 month olds. Lesson plans build on the Worker Bees classroom. Learning activities focus on Developmental Standards set by NAEYC.

Buddy Bees

3-5 years old

The Buddy Bees classroom promotes Kindergarten Readiness. This classroom builds on skills established in earlier years to meet the learning goals set by NAEYC.

Grandma’s Touch Childcare is a 3-Star Rated School

FAQ’s

What is the teacher to student ratio?

Grandma’s Touch Childcare follows the state’s guidelines for the teacher-to-student ratio.

What is the school dress code?

School uniforms are mandatory Monday through Thursday, and on Fridays, students are free to dress down.

Do you prorate tuition?

Tuition for missed days is not prorated unless the child is in the hospital, proof must be given.

How are students released?

During dismissal only approved adults can pick up a student. The adult’s name must be on the child’s emergency list and the sign-in/sign-out sheet must be completed.

Do you provide meals and snacks?

Breakfast, lunch, and 2 snacks are provided to all of our students between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

Grandma’s Touch offers sibling discounts for 3 or more siblings.

Do children go outside every day ?

Weather permitting our students have two outdoor playtimes between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm every day.

What curricula does this school use?

We use the FROG street Curriculum with developmentally appropriate activities from infants to preschool-aged students. /p>
